Guidelines for Understanding Motivation

A person who has a reason to do something is more likely to do it than she who has no reason.

A person who has two reasons for doing something is more likely to do it than a person who has one reason.

A person who has a strong reason for doing something is likely to do it unless she has a stronger reason not to do it.

A person is likely to do something if she recognizes an opportunity to get something.

A person will take something as it seems unless she has a reason for thinking otherwise.

A person is likely to do something she likes to do.

If a person does not know how to do something, she is more likely to do something she knows how to do.
